Mental Health Referrals
The majority of men, women, adolescents and children will suffer from a mood disorder at some stage, in reaction to life circumstances and changes. A mood disorder includes:
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Panic/Anxiety Attacks
- Grief & Loss
- Stress
Any of the above conditions can occur from such things as:

- insomnia or sleep disturbances
- stress
- relationship problems/family breakdowns
- adjustment issues
- chronic pain
- injury
- abuse
- addiction
- memory and cognition impairments
- disordered eating – bulimia, binge eating, comfort eating, anorexia
- obsessive compulsive disorders
- traumatic events
- sexual dysfunction
- infertility
If you or a family member has any of the issues above (or other clinical/personality disorders), it is recommended that you visit your GP and ask for a referral. A referral can be private or through Medicare under GP items 2700, 2701, 2715, or 2717.
Kellee is also a registered provider for Brisbane Mind who provide subsidised services for those who are on benefits and who are diagnosed with a mental illness or at risk from suicide, homelessness and the likes.
Kellee has worked extensively in Community Mental Health Organisations. Sometimes, therapy may involve only the person who has the issues. Much of the time, it is better to involve some or all of the people involved in the relationship with the person, circumstances or support system. Kellee is an experienced psychologist in all of the above mood disorders and issues that result in mood disorders. She looks at the issues from a systemic perspective rather than just an individualistic perspective.
Kellee’s own experiences with many of the issues above also help her to have unique insight and ways of working with clients.
